A 40 member Japanese business delegation has visited the Tema Port expansion site to explore some business opportunities to deepen their understanding of the Ghanaian business environment.
The group comprises representatives from the government of Japan, officials from JICA and private Japanese businesses including CEOs of some top Japanese companies.
The delegation were first taken on tour of the Tema Port where they observed some operations that go on there.
They were later received at the Port expansion site where the project engineer explained to them ongoing works.
He said the project is a sustainable development one which will last for the next 50years for the country.
The delegation expressed delight at the project.
Meanwhile, a Japanese vessel, Maritime Sinchai has made its maiden call to the Port of Tema.
The vessel is a bulk carrier with a twin deck and also a multi-purpose vessel.
The Captain of the Vessel was welcomed by the Tema Port Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, Josephine Asante, Principal Marketing and Public Affairs Officer, Nana Esi Soderberg and Isaac Tawiah, Senior Marketing and Public Affairs Officer, on behalf of the Port.
