The Governing Board of the Ghana Association of Quasi - Government Health Institutions (GAQHI) has held its maiden meeting at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority since its inauguration in May 2022.
The quasi-government health institutions (QGHIs) are health facilities operated by state-owned organizations whose core mandate is not only healthcare delivery.
The 16-member board is chaired by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, with the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Michael A Luguje as the Vice Chairman.
The meeting was used to deliberate on issues of concern to the association with the aim of providing quality, innovative, affordable and accessible health care delivery to everybody in every part of the country.
Joseph Boahen Aidoo charged members to strive to make their health facilities the preferred choice considering the crucial role that they play in the delivery of healthcare services.
He said, it is important for the various quasi-government institutions to take advantage of their unique and privileged positions to take a leadership role in healthcare delivery in Ghana.
