As part of efforts to bolster maritime security along Ghana’s coastline, the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, on Wednesday, 9th April 2025 paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Maxwell Arhen.
The visit underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to deepen collaboration in safeguarding Ghana’s territorial waters, particularly around the Ports of Tema and Takoradi.
Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono praised the Eastern Naval Command for its pivotal role in ensuring maritime security and noted that the rapidly evolving nature of the maritime industry calls for stronger partnerships to effectively address emerging threats at sea.
He reaffirmed GPHA’s continued support for the Navy’s operations and collaborative initiatives that contribute to a safe and secure maritime environment.
In response, Commodore Maxwell Arhen expressed appreciation for the longstanding relationship with GPHA and assured the Director-General of the Navy’s commitment to sustained cooperation in maintaining security along the country’s maritime domain.
The Director-General was accompanied by the General Manager for Estate and Environment, Mr. Benjamin Gaisie, the General Manager for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Dr. Kingsley Antwi-Boasiako, PSO Col. Ben Laryea Odumang and the Security Manager for the Port of Tema, Lt. Col. Daniel Atobrah Bondah.
